Out and About in Our District.....

Posted by Mikep4321 on Nov 10 2017 - 9:09am

Please give yourself all a Virtual Round of Appaluse as we have some updated numbers on Scouting For Food 2017 for our District:  4200 Lbs.     This does not include numbers from collections at Smart & Final.    Please also note this from the Marketing Director at Second Harvest:

As always it is an honor and a privilege to work with the Scouts. We appreciate the dedication of the organizations and the individuals who put so much time and effort into serving their community through the food drive for Second Harvest.

Thousands of families will benefit with a brighter, happier holiday and hope for better tomorrows because of the food that the drive will provide to them.
Everyone should all feel proud of their efforts. They have made a real difference in the lives of so many people today.
With much gratitude,
Let's continue this momentum as we gear up for the Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade on December 9.      Thank you to all Units who have been in touch as we gear up for this day--watch this space for further updates over the ensuing days and weeks.

On Scouting For Food 2017......

Posted by Mikep4321 on Nov 4 2017 - 7:54pm

Scouting For Food 2017 is now officially history.    Based on conservations with the team at Second Harvest, it appears that Council-Wide, we will be a bit "short"--However, here at the our District, we did well as we continued onward with the "New ECR".    What each and every Unit did in our District resulted in some 2,700 meals which will make a profound difference for all.

Here is a Virtual Round of Appaluse to  all of you for doing everything you can to make a difference in the lives of all as we all strive to live to "One Billion Acts of Kindness"

November Roundtable - Webelos Fair

Posted by gtaylor on Nov 3 2017 - 10:52am

At November Roundtable ( November 9 ) we will be having our annual Webelos Fair.  Troops will be present to answer questions of Webelos.  In addition, we will have Lost Valley representatives ( including OC Camping Director Tony Antonini ) to discuss the new programs at Lost Valley for Summer 2018. The 2018 Summer camp promotion of $25 discount that ended Sept 30, will be extended to Nov 22 in order for Scoutmasters to hear about the changes for Summer 2018 and make a decision.
